I wanted to do a speed workout this morning, but the wind was really tough, so decided to delay it until tomorrow morning.  I ended up doing the usual, 5.1 miles, which includes the Trails 5k course, and then added on two extra miles. I did the total mileage in 37.24, so about 7.24 per mile pace.  Felt easy.

I made it to 40 miles last week, so i am feeling better.  The achilles still hurts, actually most of the day, but once i get it warmed up, it doesn't feel too bad while i am running.   I am feeling like i am getting back in shape.   I am looking forward to the 5k on the 22nd of May, i hope the wind is non existent and the course is measured accurately, i want to break 18 mins, and maybe close to 17.30.  Hey, you can only hope for so much at my advanced age of 42.

Cheers

Mike, welcome to the blog! Not sure if you remember me--Glen Tucker, son of Terry Tucker in Hurricane.

It's good to see you putting in some miles again. Sorry to hear about the achilles injury. That might be the worst of them all!

Glen, of course i remember you, i am getting old but no dementia yet, i looked at your blog for a minute, it looks like you are running well. I hope to see you soon at a race in Utah, i think the next one i will do up there is the 5k at the Utah Summer games, but on the track.

Your Dad is awesome, is he running the Wasatch back this year?

It's good to hear that dementia hasn't set in yet. Not for a few more years anyway, right? ;)

I don't think my dad is running Wasatch Back this year. As of now he's signed up for a relay race in central Oregon called the Cascade Relay (July I think). After that I'm not sure what his running plans are.
