I ran the Trails 5k+2 for a total of 5.1 miles.  I did not time my effort, as i went slow....slow....slow.  I think i am going to do an uptempo 10k tomorrow morning, all of it on the roads, just to see how my foot responds.  It was sore from the track race the other night, but i really need to see what it does in a longer race.  I have not run more than a 5k distance on the roads in a race atmosphere since the Hurricane half marathon from 2009, so it has been over a year.

I am not looking to go crazy on the 10k, who knows if it is even measured right, but I would like to be around 39 mins, just uptempo.

Cheers

How's the achilles? I've been slow to recover from my injury.

Word on the street is that Sydni is going to go out and run for Logan at Des. Hills. That would be great; too bad I can't convince her to work her way over to PV (take that Logan!)

The achilles is much better than 3 months ago, but it isn't 100%, and maybe never will be. It is sore right now, i spend alot of time on it trying to keep it improving.

Hey Coach Holt....Sydni said she is joining the CC team, and now she tells me she isn't. I am not sure about her, i think it would do so much for her in so many ways, athletically, self confidence, etc....but she now thinks she can't run 3 miles. I told her, yes, you probably can't right now, but that is why you train, work hard, run some miles, etc...and then you have fun!! But you know how it is with teenage girls, I don't want to push too hard, and be the weird running Dad that won't leave her alone!
